Beef will be provided by The Ohio Cattle Company.
All beef will be delivered frozen. Processing and packaging will be done by Bay Packing in Pleasantville, Ohio. They are licensed and fully inspected by the USDA for your safety.
The beef is hormone, preservative free and frozen. In a typical retail market, the beef is shipped frozen, then thawed, cut, injected with preservatives, packaged, purchased by the consumer and, quite often, refrozen at home until consumption. The advantage of frozen beef over fresh beef is that quality can be preserved without the use of these unhealthy preservatives. The beef we offer will remain frozen until it arrives at your door. This increases beef quality by eliminating freezer burn and reducing unnecessary steps in handling.
Beef packages include home delivery for a twelve week season. Deliveries will be made on a bi-weekly basis.
Currently we are taking sign ups for delivery October 2010 through Decemer 2010. The final sign up date for this period is March 31, 2010. Payment is due in full upon sign up, either through paypal or by check.
Beef packages are set up in a point system. All available cuts of beef are listed at the bottom of this page, along with a point value assigned to each cut. Supporters must choose how they wish to allocate their points from the purchased package(s) upon sign up. There are no limitations on point allocation. Supporters will be able to choose which part of their original order they would like to receive each week. Unlimited amounts of one package or any combination of packages may be purchased.
Include in the price of each package is a refundable $30 deposit for 2 reusable coolers and 4 reusable dry ice packs. These coolers are designed for shipping frozen food. If on any week the cooler and packs are not returned for use on the next delivery, the deposit will be deemed non refundable. At the end of each 3 month season, refunds for these deposits will be issued.
