The Faces of New Century CSA

Let us introduce ourselves.  We are the Cooks:  Tim, Christy, Zach, Ethan, Tyler and Nathan.  The purpose of this page is to help you get to know us and the background of New Century CSA.

Tim grew up on his family's farm in Circleville.  Throughout growing up he developed a love for the land and of the farming way of life.  It was his desire from a young age to become a career farmer like his father and grandfather.  In 1999 Tim rented his first farm and began fulfilling his lifelong dream.  He began to grow vegetables during that time in addition to raising corn and soybeans. However, not having a good market for the produce made it hardly worth the required time and effort.  In early 2004 we were given the idea to start a CSA in Circleville.  In just a matter of a few weeks, 50 families had signed up for membership and the program was underway.  In 2009 the program grew to over 600 members.

Christy also grew up in Circleville.  Upon her high school graduation she pursued her dream of becoming a teacher by enrolling at Asbury College in Kentucky.  After completing her degree in 1998, she began to work as a high school math teacher in the Chillicothe school system.  She taught there for 3 years.  When we were married in 2001 Christy began teaching in the Logan Elm school district.  In 2003 we were blessed with our first son Zach.  Upon his arrival we both agreed that Christy needed to be home to care for him.  Since then our family has grown.  In 2005 Ethan arrived, in 2006 Tyler was born, and our fourth son Nathan just joined our family in December of 2008.

We are a family that loves the farming way of life, and we are committed to the CSA.  Through providing our customers with the highest quality produce and running our business with the utmost integrity, we believe that you would be proud to be a part of New Century CSA.
